CHARITY PARTNER
We are proud to announce that proceeds from this event will support Easy Street Animal Shelter!
Easy Street Animal Shelter is located in Saint Jo, TX. They are a small, rural, non-kill shelter, that strives to provide the best possible care to the dogs, who come to them. The volunteers at ESAS work tirelessly to find forever homes for each animal. In the almost ten years they have been open; they have taken in over 1100 dogs. Each dog at ESAS is fully vetted with a spay/neuter, vaccinations, preventative treatments and a microchip and is ready for their new, happy family. Adoption events at area businesses are held throughout the year and since 2017 ESAS has worked with a coalition of shelters in North Texas transporting them to Minnesota and Wisconsin, where the dogs are quickly adopted, and additional room is available for other homeless dogs in the local area.
In addition to the care provided to the animals at the shelter, ESAS has a number of community programs to help area citizens with their own dogs. A spay/neuter program is available for area residents, to help curb the overpopulation of puppies and kittens. A program sponsored by a grant from the national foundation, Pets for the Elderly, provides funds to help seniors, 60+ with the medical needs of their animals. In addition to those programs, a feral cat program is starting up in the community, where ESAS helps to trap, spay/neuter and return the healthy cats back into their community colonies. For the past 4 years, ESAS has hosted two free microchip clinics in the county, where residents can get their animals microchipped, to help reunite them, should they become lost. Another community program, where ESAS partners with the Saint Jo Public Library is the weekly Books and Rescue K9’s (BARK Club) where shelter dogs visit and “read” with area children.
The shelter is supported by area citizens, local businesses and fund raisers that are done throughout the year and help fund the daily operations at the shelter and the various programs that help the general health of the animals in the community.
Everyone at Easy Street Animal Shelter works to help animals find their forever family and friends.
